Pops the B52s at the Lo the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts October 21
The Louisville Orchestra's newly announced upcoming 80th season includes new works such as "The Greatest," artistic director Teddy Abrams' tribute to Muhammad Ali, and revered music by master composers of the classical genre, including Rachmaninoff. This season, pianist Yuja Wang - who the mag Musical America named Artist of the Yr - performs that composer'due south works and the orchestra's Principal Pops Usher Bob Bernhardt will welcome The B-52s and the Mambo Kings to the LO Pops series.

Yuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff | Sept. 23: Teddy Abrams, conducts, and Yuja Wang is on piano in a concert of Sergei Rachmaninoff'southward emotional and intimate Concerto for Pianoforte + Orchestra No. 4; Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5.
Why Beethoven? | Oct. thirteen* and 14: Teddy Abrams, conducts an all-Beethoven concert including the composer's Symphony No. 7.

The Greatest: Muhammad Ali | Nov. 4: Teddy Abrams conducts the world premiere of his limerick that includes soloist Jecorey Arthur in a musical commemoration and tribute to the extraordinary life and bear on of the athlete and humanitarian.
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto | January. *12 and 13: Jayce Ogren, conducts, and Gabriel Lefkowitz is on violin, in a concert that includes Jean Sibelius; Symphony No. 7 (in one movement) and Pytor Tchaikovsky's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra. The Archetype Serial Concert on Jan. 13 besides includes Steven Mackey'due south "Urban Ocean."
War and Peace | Feb. two* and 3: Teddy Abrams, conducts a various concert including Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings," Maurice Ravel's "La Valse," the 2d move of Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem" ("Beat out! Beat! Drums!").

The Planets: An Hd Odyssey | Feb. 23* and 24: Thomas Wilkins, conducts a concert of Gustav Holst's "The Planets" with an Hard disk video presentation of images of space from NASA rovers and satellites with calculator-driven graphics that bring a new dimension to the music.
Kentucky Classics: Festival of American Music I | March 24: Teddy Abrams, conducts a concert jubilant Americana roots and including music nearly Kentucky and featuring Kentucky-based composers and performers. The music includes including Aaron Copland'southward "4 Dance Episodes from Rodeo" and amid the artists are fiddler Michael Cleveland and I'yard with Her trio.

Pepper's Alone Hearts Club Band" and its musical influence.
The B-52s |Oct. 21: From "Stone Lobster" and "Dance This Mess Around" to chart-topping hits like "Love Shack" and "Deadbeat Society," Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson sing songs that are sometimes just silly and about laughing and other times well-nigh great friendships. Bob Bernhardt conducts the political party with the orchestra.
Home for The Holidays | Nov. 25: Broadway veterans – soprano Lisa Vroman and tenor Doug LaBrecque – join the orchestra and conductor Bob Bernhardt to brighten up the holidays with musical favorites of Christmas and the flavor.

Mambo Kings | January. 20: The Mambo Kings with Richard Delaney on piano Freddy Colon on drums, John Vivavattine on woodwinds, Hector Diaz on bass and Tony Padilla on congas share the stage with the orchestra and conductor Bob Bernhardt, usher when the Latin jazz combo, brings its blend of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation to Louisville.
